Michael Shackleton is the project leader for the MDBA Genetic Barcoding project based at The Murray-Darling Freshwater Research Centre in Wodonga, Victoria, Australia. In a new MDFRC fact sheet, Michael summarises DNA barcoding technology and outlines benefits of DNA barcoding when applied to macroinvertebrate collection as part of a large scale ecological monitoring project.
