The Murray Darling Freshwater Research Centre plays a crucial role in providing the science which underpins the decisions made concerning water allocations in the Murray Darling Basin. The Centre's mission is to generate and communite the knowledge required to support the adaptive management of environmental water allocations, manage risks associated with significant water quality events (eg. blackwater) and build the research capacity necessary to inform future water policy
